thinking about animal crossing new horizions

It has been close to 5 years since New Horizons came out… wow I have played the game lots since it has came out and i have lots of thoughts i just wanted to talk about the game. Personally, New Horizons is not my favorite animal crossing game. I sometimes i feel like it's missing something but before i talk about that i want to talk about my favorite things about the game because it does do some things better than games in the past (btw this is not meant to be a reveiw but it kinda sounds like one lol)

Favorite things list (not in any particular order)

  1. Placing items outside
  2. Cooking
  3. Crops
  4. New clothes/New Furniture
  5. Concept
  6. Being able to change your characters face

My number 1 favorite thing is that you can place items outside… This is the thing that I and lots of other people wanted for an animal crossing game and Nintendo delivered. Being able to place things outside was a game changer and now you can make your town/island cooler than ever before

Number 2: cooking. I think this was a super cool addition to the game () i just think its fun that you can make food 

Number 3… crops! I love being able to plant things other than like trees and flowers i think the addition of crops is really fun i just like planting things and making little farm areas

Number 4: new items like clothes and furniture dressing up my character and decorating my house is like my favorite thing to do in animal crossing i really like the new clothes (but i also wish they would have kept some clothes from past games) 

Five: I think the concept of developing an island is really cool, idk bringing an island from a deserted place to a nice little town is fun and with being able to place things outside it gives lots of possibilities for theming if you’re into that 

6, My last and final thing on this list is being able to change your face. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been stuck with a face that I don’t like, it’s just happened a lot of times. This isn’t as much of a problem anymore because of face guides but still it’s nice being able to change or pick easily. i still do miss the old way a little but this way is good too

of course there are a lot more things i love about new horizions but these are like my most noteworthy things idk… although i love animal crossing and i love this game but there are some things that i dont really like

things i dont really like list:

  1. not very many diferent villager interactions/villagers lacking in personality
  2. loss of some characters and buildings from prior games
  3. not enough other activities

#1: i just feel like the villagers are a little boring i just wish there were more interactions to have with them like i love hide and seek in new leaf or contests from wild world i wish i could do more stuff with the villagers and i wish they made the requests they do more

number two… really missing some buildings and villagers… like i wish that instead of having the open air market on harv's island there couldve been more stores on the island like kicks or leifs for example or the police station, i miss the characters and i wish there were more buildings to add to my island

3: i start to get bored fast sometimes i just run out of things to do. i think this has someting to do with the few villager interactions/games/requests but like even ignoring that other than crafting, fishing, catching bugs, swimming, etc… there isnt too much else to do unless theres an event going on. idk i just want more stuff to do

idk i just feel like new horizons is missing something it feels kinda incomplete. event hough its not my favorite i plan on restarting and playing more this year

also i plan on making a 2nd post kinda related to this one about what my dream animal crossing game would be like
