what is Animal Crossing? Animal Crossing is a real time social simulation game series about a human character (the player) living in a town where all the villagers are animals created by 江口勝也 (Katsuya Eguchi) and 野上恒 (Hisashi Nogami) and is published by Nintendo!

the first game was released only in Japan on April 14 2001 for the N64

the story behind animal crossing

the story for animal crossing comes from Eguchi's own experience of moving away from his hometown. when Eguchi moved to Kyoto, far from his family and friends in Chiba. He realized how important and good being close to them was. the feeling he felt after moving lead him to explore the themes we see in animal crossing: family, friendship, and comunity.

when it came to game development Eguchi wanted to create a game that anyone could play and that people could experience together even if they were not playing at the same time

what is Animal Crossing about? you are moving to a new town where all the other villagers are animals! through out the game you work to develop your town, make bells (the currency in Animal Crossing), make friends with the other villagers, and lots more!

there's many different animals the the vilagers can be! they can be Aligators, Anteaters, Bears, Birds, Bulls, Cats, Chickens, Cows, Cubs, Deer, Dogs, Ducks, Eagles, Elephants, Frogs, Goats, Gorillas, Hamsters, Hippos, Horses, Kangaroos, Koalas, Lions, Monkeys, Mice, Octopuses, Ostriches, Penguins, Pigs, Rabbits, Rhinos, Sheep, Squirrels, Tigers, or Wolves

each also has 1 of 8 personalities which effect things like how they talk! personalities: Big sister, Cranky, Jock, Lazy, Normal, Peppy, Smug, and snooty

i love Animal Crossing so much! my favorite things to do are catch bugs, go fishing, dress up my character, and decorate my house!
